About the event

Spire Bergen is screening the new documentary FRø!

FRø is a Nordic film about the quiet power of seeds and the people who carry it forward. In a poetic tapestry of Nordic stories, FRø introduces us to people whose lives, each in their own way, are intertwined with seeds. Through their work, whether they grow, preserve, study, or share seeds, the film opens a door to a world where these small vessels of life offer us memories of the past, choices of the present, and possibilities for the future. Through the film’s lyrical portraits, insights unfold that invite us to see seeds anew: as the origin of life and as part of a cycle we have almost forgotten. The film asks quietly yet persistently: Can we rediscover our connection to seeds and what might happen if we do? The documentary is directed by Isabelle Denaro, most known for her movie Landbrugets Natur.

After the documentary there will be a short discussion on seeds and food security, with perspectives from both Norway and Malawi. The conversation will be moderated by Charlie Dina Dickhausen, representing Spire in the SEED-project. The panel consists of:
- Benedicte Brun, KVANN - Norwegian Seed Savers
- Vanessa Dzekedzeke, representing Point of Progress in the SEED-project

The event is free and open to everyone!
