Student volunteering is an important part of student life, contributing to a sense of community, achievement, and engagement. Sammen is now testing a new digital event calendar and student association portal that brings together everything student organizations need in one place. The solution is designed to make it easier for students to get involved, and for associations to spend less time on administration and more time on activities.
One place for everything happening in student life
The goal of the platform is to make it easier to discover the opportunities available – whether you are a new student, curious to try something new, or already active in a student association. The new solution gives students an overview of:
- student associations in the area
- events and activities through a shared event calendar
- how and where to get involved
Tailored to the needs of student associations
For student associations, the new platform also serves as a practical working tool. Among other things, the portal will offer solutions for:
- overview of members and roles
- administrative structure for running an association
- consolidated information about funding schemes and application deadlines
This will help improve information flow and reduce time‑consuming tasks in the busy everyday life of engaged students.
Highlighting inclusive associations
An important aim of the solution is to lower the threshold for joining a student organization. Work is therefore underway on features that can highlight association that are particularly good at welcoming and supporting new members. Over time, this may make it even safer and easier to get involved for the first time.
Pilot project – Spring 2026
Sammen is piloting the solution, which will be rolled out gradually during the spring semester. The pilot period will be used for testing, adjustments, and further development in close dialogue with student organizations. Associations are encouraged to submit suggestions for improvement and report errors along the way. Errors can be reported using this form.
The tool is intended as an offer, not a requirement. Organizations can choose which features they want to use, based on their own needs and routines.
The new event calendar and student association portal have been developed in collaboration with several student welfare organizations, with the aim of strengthening student engagement nationally. The pilot project at Sammen is an important step toward a more structured, accessible, and inclusive student volunteering landscape.
