Our Course Offerings

Sammen Student Associations offers two types of courses: scheduled courses and on-demand courses. On this page, you can read about the different courses in our portfolio and how to sign up.

Scheduled courses:
Many of our courses are held regularly. Scheduled courses are published in Sammen’s course calendar ↗, and you can sign up directly through the calendar.

On-demand courses:
On-demand courses, as the name suggests, can be requested for your association or board. It is completely free to order courses from Sammen Student Associations, and we do our best to adapt to your wishes and needs. To book a course for your association, you can contact us by email: foreninger@studentliv.no.

New to the Board

This is our most popular on-demand course. We know that handovers and knowledge transfer can be time-consuming and challenging. Sammen Student Life therefore offers a course designed to make the transition easier. The course covers key topics for new boards and aims to give them a strong foundation for their work.

Leadership in Student Associations

As a leader, you need to master a wide range of tasks. You must delegate, set goals and manage by them, understand the individuals around you, and understand your Student Association, just to name a few. In the course “Leadership in Student Associations,” you will gain more knowledge about the leadership role and different leadership styles, motivation techniques, and delegation. The course also includes practical exercises and opportunities for sharing experiences.

The Difficult Conversation

This course teaches you a conversation technique that can be used to plan, conduct, and follow up on concerns and/or unwanted behavior within the organization.

Conflict Management and Resolution

This course provides insight into methods and tools for conflict management and resolution in student volunteering. You will learn to identify conflicts and how to handle them constructively.

Meeting Facilitation

This course is for those who plan and lead meetings, both small and large. We go through how you can involve those who speak less and manage those who speak the most. We also work with tools that help groups stay on time and on topic. The goal of the course is to give participants the competence to run meetings that generate energy rather than drain it.

Finance Course

This course teaches you how to create a budget, keep accounts, and establish good routines for sound financial management. You will learn to use a tailored Excel template where you can easily manage your Student Association’s accounts and generate reports.

Sustainable Student Associations

In this course, you will learn what it takes for an organization to remain sustainable over time. You will gain insight into effective recruitment, how to keep members motivated, routines that ensure stable income over time, and organizational structures that provide security and knowledge for members.

Course for Elected Representatives

Regardless of the context, elected representatives are an important resource for those around them. This course covers relevant topics for students in representative roles. Through the course, we aim to give you greater insight into and understanding of the role.

Speaking Up as an Engaged Participant

This course focuses on how engaged members can speak up in meetings and assemblies. We go through different methods that make it easier to take the floor. The course emphasizes a high level of interaction among participants. You may also want to check out Sammen Mental Health’s “Speak Up!” course.

Presentation Skills

Do you find it challenging to stand in front of others and present? You are not alone! Mastering the art of presenting is about communicating your message in an engaging and clear way. The presentation skills course consists largely of practical exercises and techniques aimed at strengthening your presentation abilities and identifying areas for improvement.
