About the event

What would you do if the power went out, the internet stopped working, or an unexpected event disrupted your daily life? UiB invites you to Student Preparedness Day.

Through several short talks, you will receive practical advice and useful tips on personal preparedness tailored to student life. Afterwards, you can meet organizations working with emergency preparedness, safety, and community, ask questions, and get to know other students. A light lunch will be served. You can choose to attend both the talks and the information fair, or just one of them.

Rector Margareth Hagen and Student Parliament President Fillip Rønning Jakobsen will welcome you.

Speakers:
• Jarle Eid, Professor Emeritus of Operational Psychology, UiB
• Tasim Karim, Adviser in the Civil Protection and Emergency Preparedness Section, City of Bergen
• Irene Kinunda Afriyie, author and social commentator
• Fredrik A. Juell, the Emergency Preparedness Alliance
• Roar Nese, UiB's Health, Safety and Environment Section
• Gjertrud Ekerhovd, specialist psychologist at Sammen

Please note that the event will be held in Norwegian.
