Our activities

University Karate Club (UKK) practices the traditional karate style Chito-ryu. Chito-ryu includes a wide range of techniques for effective self-defence, physical development, and strengthening mental focus and endurance.

At UKK, you will learn the different elements of traditional karate, including basic techniques (kihon-waza), forms (kata), sparring (kumite), throws and takedowns (nage-waza), holding and control techniques, escape techniques, and the use of traditional weapons (kobudo).

Karate provides excellent physical training, developing strength, agility, speed, endurance, flexibility, and overall body control. Training also contributes to concentration, focus, and mental endurance.
