The Student Parliament at The University of Bergen
The main focus of the Student Parliament at UiB is to make everyday life as good as possible for the students. This involves everything from meetings with the university management to handing out free coffee in the mornings during exam periods. We also have stands at the various faculties throughout the year, and we hold meetings at least three times per semester where we discuss and adopt policies.

Our activities
The Student Parliament (SP) is the highest student political body at the University of Bergen. The Student Parliament works to safeguard the interests of UiB students and serves as their most important voice to the university and other relevant stakeholders. The Student Parliament consists of 31 elected students. 24 of these are elected through list elections. Student political lists (somewhat similar to political parties) run for election every spring. All students at the University of Bergen can join a list, and anyone can start their own. The number and type of lists that run for election vary from year to year.
In addition to the 24 representatives elected via lists, the student committees at all seven faculties have one student representative each. These are generally elected at the student committee's general assembly or by the student committee itself. These representatives primarily represent the students of their respective faculties.
