Eureka!

Eureka! is the student organisation of the Medical Student Research Programme (Forskerlinjen) at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Bergen. It represents all students in the Medical Student Research Programme. Its aim is to create an academic platform that inspires students to get more involved in research and their field. Eureka! has three main jobs. It recruits new students to the Medical Student Research Programme. It works to protect the rights of students in the programme and keeps up a dialogue with the administration. It is also a social arena that aims to build a sense of belonging among the programme's students.

Our activities

Eureka! hosts information stands, open lunches and the information evening "Veien til Forskerlinjen" (The Road to the Medical Student Research Programme) for students interested in research. We also hold academic events, such as crash courses (e.g embryology and histology) and a protocol-writing seminar. We work with the programme's administration and take part in start-up seminars, information meetings and admission interviews. We also host parties, a Christmas dinner, a Christmas porridge gathering and a summer party to build a sense of community among the programme's students.
