Bergen Challenge

Bergen Challenge is a voluntary student organisation that arranges the Bergen Student Games (Studentlekene Bergen). Our purpose is to bring together students from across Bergen through sport, and to build an arena where inclusion, the joy of sport and a sense of community come first. We want every student, whatever their level or background, to experience the joy of taking part.

Our activities

Bergen Challenge arranges the Bergen Student Games, which in 2026 take place from 7 to 11 October. During the games, students compete in 25 different sports, one of them being the Nordic Championship in 3x3 basketball with teams from Norway, Sweden and Finland. The organisation is built and run by volunteer students, and aims to gather around 2500 participants and up to 700 volunteers from across the city. Throughout the year, the board and the volunteers plan, deliver and follow up on everything needed to create a large sporting event for students.
